The North Gauteng IFAA Provincial Indoor Championships took place at Ultimate Aim Archery, 6-7 April 2019.
We’d like to thank all archers that participated in the competition and congratulate those that won medals. These are the archers from our club that shot in the competition and placed in the rankings as follows:

The South African National IFAA Indoor Championships were held at Ultimate Aim archery range on 26-28 April 2019. A group of the Archers of Zoolake club members took part and some managed to achieve South African National Colours and Provincial Colours.
Thank you to all of those that participated and congratulations to those archers that were successful in getting medals and Colours.
A bit about how Provincial’s and National’s work:
In a year’s cycle, from one National’s event to the next National’s event, you have to get four National Colours scores or three Provincial Colours scores in that year cycle in order to achieve Colours – and then you have to compete in the National or Provincial Championships.
Archers of Zoolake had six archers achieving Provincial Colours and nine archers achieving National Colours. Here’s who achieved,

The Johannesburg IFAA Flint Indoor Championships took place at Action Archery in Kempton Park, on 9-10 March 2019.

The Rosebank Killarney Gazette were at the Archers of Zoolake (AZL) archery range in March to do a feature piece on our very own AZL member Olufemi “Femi” Oyeka and his ambitious goal to raise funds for the Zoo Lake Park.

In short, Femi is raising funds through his archery achievements by taking pledges for his scores at archery competitions.
The article goes on to elaborate that community members can pledge an amount of money which will be donated to upliftment projects at Zoo Lake if Olufemi achieves either a top three finish; a gold, silver or bronze medal, any number of bullseyes or a total competition score of more than 230 in these events.
The proceeds go to the Zoo Lake Users Committee to put towards projects, such as cleaning up the park, which is close to Femi’s heart.

Join us for a Kyudo demonstration at the Archers of Zoolake archery range on Sunday 5 August at 14h00, and a social bring-and-braai as well.
We're calling it a day of archery at the archery range! It's a social event for experienced archers, as well as archers-to-be that are interested to learn more and observe skilled archers!
The festivities start at 14h00 and continue all the way until 17h00. Here's a look at the programme, so that you don't miss out!
Kyūdō is the Japanese martial art of archery. Kyudo Senior and President of the All South African Kyudo Federation, Jade Fraundorfer and his team will be presenting and demonstrating the art of Kyudo with a Q&A session afterward.
Please note that only experienced archers will be permitted to shoot on the day.

An event exclusively for Women, on Women's day - at 25% OFF.
The programme starts off with an important safety briefing at the beginning of the lesson. This entails the coach explaining the rules and workings of the archery range; the coach explaining and demonstrating shooting a recurve bow; and then get everyone up and running with some coaching. Once all the participants are comfortable with shooting a bow, we will introduce some challenges.
